Glossary
Section titled “Glossary”Quick definitions of the terms you’ll see across this site and inside the app.
Data model
Section titled “Data model”- Folder — a node in the localization tree; containers for Lines.
- Line — a single text entry (string key) within a Folder; the unit of localization.
- Translation — one localized string for one Line in one Language.
- FLT — shorthand for the Folder → Line → Translation hierarchy and its three-panel view.
- Workbook / Worksheet — a set of related tables managed together.
- Branch — a named workspace; safe to experiment in without affecting
main.
Workflow & UI
Section titled “Workflow & UI”- Tab — one tab per database table at the top of the main window.
- Filters bar — the input above the lines list that narrows down what you see.
- Search overlay — full-screen finder reachable with
Ctrl+F(Find In View). - Breadcrumb — the path-style navigation above the lines list.
- Live feed — the side panel showing who else is connected.
- Job center — bottom-right popout listing background tasks (exports, imports, batch edits).
- Notifications — non-blocking messages from the system or other users.
- Status bar — the bottom strip with the latest log line and active status indicators.
- Change history — per-cell history of who changed what and when.
- View-columns profiles — saved column layouts you can switch between.
- Folder flag — categorised inheritable boolean attached to a folder (e.g.
NotExportable,IsWwiseSwitchContainer).
Localization
Section titled “Localization”- Recording state — flag on a Translation tracking whether voice / TTS is recorded, in progress, or invalid.
- Line type — Dialogue, Action, etc.
- Bark — a short, often barked / shouted in-game line. Used for combat and ambient.
- Conversation — a longer back-and-forth dialogue line.
- Cinematic — a line attached to a cinematic timeline.
- UI — a line that appears in the user interface.
- TTS — text-to-speech audio generated from a Translation.
- ONO — onomatopoeia bark type (filterable).
- Non-exportable — a folder flag suppressing export to game engines.
Sync engines
Section titled “Sync engines”- Sync engine — game-side adapter (Unity / Unreal / Godot) that reads/writes localization files and proposes changes back.
- Sync link — saved configuration tying a Poneglyph project to a game project on disk.
- Staging area — UI panel where you review offline proposals before committing them.
Identity & version control
Section titled “Identity & version control”- Realm (Keycloak) — the auth tenant your studio uses for SSO.
- Nickname credentials — anonymous / dev mode login.
- Workspace (Perforce) — the local checkout of your game project.
- Changelist (Perforce) — a pending or submitted set of changes.
- Swarm review — Helix Swarm code-review attached to a changelist.
Doc anchors
Section titled “Doc anchors”- Doc anchor — a tag attached to a UI panel that provides a “See documentation about …” entry in the right-click menu, a Ctrl-hover book glyph, and an
F1shortcut. - Pink book icon — the visual marker for a doc anchor, both inside the app and on this site.
